Assessments
Comprehensive assessments tailored to the individual.
At Elements OT, assessments focus on understanding how a person’s strengths, challenges and support needs impact their everyday life.
Each assessment is tailored to the individual and may include clinical interviews, standardised assessments, observation, document review and collaboration with families and other professionals where appropriate.
The aim is to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that are practical, meaningful and relevant to everyday life.
Functional Capacity Assessments
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) provide a comprehensive evaluation of how disability impacts a person's ability to participate in everyday activities across home, school, work and community settings.

The assessment identifies functional strengths and support needs and provides practical, evidence-based recommendations tailored to the individual. Recommendations may support disability funding, future planning, service provision, and greater independence and participation in everyday life.
Other Occupational Therapy Reports
Elements OT provides a range of other Occupational Therapy reports tailored to the individual’s needs and reason for referral.
Reports provide clear clinical evidence and recommendations to support funding, access to services and future planning. These may include:
-
NDIS funding applications and reviews
-
Department of Housing reports
-
Funding support letters
-
Assistive technology and aids & equipment reports
-
Sensory assessments
-
Educational planning and recommendations
-
Other Occupational Therapy reports and recommendations
Each report is supported by clear clinical reasoning and practical, evidence-based recommendations relevant to the individual’s circumstances.
School Assessments & Recommendations
School assessments explore how a student’s strengths and areas of difficulty impact their participation, learning and independence within the educational environment.
Recommendations are tailored to the student’s individual needs and may address executive functioning, sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor and handwriting skills, classroom participation, self-care, environmental modifications and reasonable adjustments to support participation at school.

What to Expect
Every assessment is tailored to the individual's needs and referral questions. Depending on the purpose of the assessment, this may include:
-
Clinical interview with the individual and/or their family
-
Review of relevant reports and supporting documentation
-
Standardised Occupational Therapy assessments, where appropriate
-
Functional observation
-
Collaboration with families, schools and other professionals, where appropriate
-

Practical, evidence-based recommendations
This process helps build a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s functional abilities, support needs and everyday participation.
